Twombly

In Plato's Phaedrus, Socrates identifies Apollo as "the purifier, and the washer, and the absolver of all impurities." Keeping in mind that the articulation of division and naming was fundamental to Plato's dialectic, and that dialectic purified (katharmos) the soul through refuation of false knowledge, then what do we make of the graphical mark of Apollo here?
